Until the early 1850s, most enslaved African people who arrived on Brazilian shores were forced to embark at West Central African ports, especially in Luanda (present-day Angola). An estimated 4.9 million enslaved people from Africa were imported to Brazil during the period from 1501 to 1866. The importation of African slaves began midway through the 16th century, but the enslavement of indigenous peoples continued well into the 17th and 18th centuries.ĭuring the Atlantic slave trade era, Brazil imported more enslaved Africans than any other country. Later, colonists were heavily dependent on indigenous labor during the initial phases of settlement to maintain the subsistence economy, and natives were often captured by expeditions called bandeiras ("Flags", from the flag of Portugal they carried in a symbolic claiming of new lands for the country). Slavery in Brazil began long before the first Portuguese settlement was established in 1516, with members of one tribe enslaving captured members of another. However, in the end, the master refused the offer and returned the money to the “rescuer,” although the final transaction cost the slave’s owner a terrible price, which was an extra fee of $11.10.Passport granted to the slave Manoel by Angelo Pires Ramos, chief of police in the province of Sergipe, on 21 December 1876, authorising him to travel to Bahia and Rio de Janeiro in order to be sold. Not knowing what it meant for their relationship, nor if anyone was supposed to do anything in return, the master has reportedly hesitated in front of his partner, claiming that “$300 is $300,” and the slave mentioned having an emotional breakdown on the next day after the incident while he was unsure what was going to happen to him either. In his attempt to buy the person in question out of slavery, the volunteer sent 300 USD to the bank account the master used for donations during rare yet occasional live streams.Īs soon as the owner received the donation, the couple was highly surprised and confused.
In response, he mentioned that the reason behind his actions was the fact his friend’s “pet” complained about his state, possibly to gain some attention from his master’s friend who happened to be having a manic stage during which he was giving the money away to his friends, as well as random people. Recently, we received information regarding rumors about a player who has reportedly “sold himself into slavery” to a potential ERP (erotic role-playing) partner by accident last year.Īfter the investigation, we found out that no one got sold into actual slavery in the end, but, as it turns out, there were three major figures involved in the story: the “volunteer” and the couple that misinformed him by presenting the fact they treated each other as a master and a slave due to their intimate preferences and interests.īoth men were in a consensual relationship, however, the furry volunteer wasn’t aware of that since the couple was explicitly open about the master/slave relationship, and so the “Good Samaritan” tried to buy the sub out of “slavery” by sending a relatively large amount of money to the master’s bank account for the “pet’s” freedom.Įventually, we managed to contact the volunteer who wanted to rescue the slave.
